2025 is our Executive Director’s 30th year directing the writing program at Charles Hart Middle School. Nancy Schwalb started at Hart as one of the founding members of the Clinton Administration’s AmeriCorps, working through WritersCorps, a national service organization in the WPA tradition. Nancy incorporated the D.C. Creative Writing Workshop as a separate nonprofit in 2000. We held a 30th Anniversary Gala on May 21 at the Anacostia Busboys & Poets, 2004 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue SE. Here are a few pictures:
